とっても感動した。

Youth is not a time of life-it is a state of mind; it is a temper of the will, a quality of imagination, a vigor of the emotions, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over love ease.
青春とは人生のある期間を言うのではなく心の様相を言うのだ。優れた創造力、逞（たくま）しき意志、炎ゆる情熱、※怯懦（きょうだ）を却（しりぞ）ける勇猛心、安易を振り捨てる冒険心、こう言う様相を青春と言うのだ。
※怯懦（きょうだ）…臆病で気の弱いこと
No body grows only by merely living a number of years; peoples grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair -these are the long, long years that bow the head and turn the growing spirit back to dust.
年を重ねただけで人は老いない。理想を失う時に初めて老いがくる。歳月は皮膚のしわを増すが情熱を失う時に精神はしぼむ。苦悶や、※狐疑（こぎ）、不安、恐怖、失望、こう言うものこそ恰（あたか）も長年月の如く人を老いさせ、精気ある魂をも※芥（あくた）に帰せしめてしまう。
※狐疑（こぎ）…疑ってためらうこと ※芥（あくた）…ごみ
Whether seventy or sixteen, there is in every being's heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and the starlike things and thoughts, the undoubted challenge of events, the unfailling childlike appetite for what next, and the joy and the game of life.
年は七十であろうと十六であろうと、その胸中に抱き得るものは何か。曰く「驚異えの愛慕心」 空にひらめく※星晨（せいしん）、その輝きにも似たる事物や思想の対する※欽迎（きんぎょう）、事に処する※剛毅（ごうき）な挑戦、小児（しょうに）の如く求めて止まぬ探求心、人生への歓喜と興味。
※星晨（せいしん）…晨は天体のこと ※欽迎（きんぎょう）…つつしみあおぐ
※剛毅（ごうき）…意志が強固で不屈なこと
you are yang as your faith, as old as doubt;
as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear;
as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
人は信念と共に若く 疑惑と共に老ゆる
人は自信と共に若く 恐怖と共に老ゆる
希望ある限り若く 失望と共に老い朽ちる
So long as your heart receives messages of beauty, cheer, courage, grandeur and power from the earth, from man and from the Infinite so long as your young.
大地より、神より、人より、美と喜悦、勇気と壮大、偉力と霊感を受ける限り人の若さは失われない。
When the wires are all down and all the central place of your heart is covered with the snows of pessimism and the ice of cynicism, then you are grown old indeed and may God have mercy on your soul.
これらの霊感が絶え、※悲歎の白雪が人の心の奥までも※蔽（おお）いつくし、皮肉の厚氷がこれを固くとざすに至ればこの時にこそ人は全くに老いて神の憐れみを乞う他はなくなる。
※悲歎…悲しみ嘆くこと 歎は嘆と同じ ※蔽（おお）い…遮蔽する
